- ➤ A local micro dairy near Freedom produces A2 protein milk that many with lactose intolerance find easier to digest—owner Tammy Fritsch said the creamery now serves 200 families weekly with 300 gallons of milk and has expanded its operation to include an ice cream store. WBAY
- ➤ Riley Electrical Supply, a 40-year-old family business on Hickory Street in Fond du Lac, was awarded the 2025 Energy Efficiency Excellence Award from Focus on Energy for supplying over 500 energy-saving projects worth $460,000 that reduced energy use equivalent to that of 870 homes — a milestone noted by local energy partners. - ➤ Schnuck Markets has completed its purchase of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers as the three supermarket brands form the new 1939 Group — which now includes 164 stores and more than 19,000 employees. - ➤ Students in Wisconsin may soon not be allowed to use personal cell phones, laptops and tablets in class because a bill would change school rules — the Senate passed it 29‑to‑4 and school boards will have until July 1 to update policies. Almost 90 percent of districts already have some regulations in place. WBAY
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ NOAA, the Old Farmer’s Almanac and the Farmers’ Almanac have released winter predictions for Fond du Lac—these forecasts range from a mostly mild season with below-normal precipitation to a classic winter wonderland with very cold temperatures and snowfall. NOAA’s outlook shows equal chances of above‐ or below‐normal temperatures along with a 33–44% likelihood of above‐average precipitation through January. FDL Reporter

- ➤ Residents in Taycheedah were surprised when the town board—after discussing higher costs and longer response times—voted Monday night to keep funding Mount Calvary Ambulance Service through 2026; the service covers 158 square miles and nearly 10,000 residents. WBAY
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Tricia Korth—an Appleton resident—was diagnosed with stage 1B breast cancer in early 2023 and underwent a lumpectomy and radiation treatment, which she credits to early detection. She said the strong support from her family, friends, and ThedaCare helped her recover and now inspires her to urge women to get regular mammograms. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Amanda Ujazdowski of ThedaCare said that patients preparing for hip or knee surgery should exercise, eat healthy, and stop smoking to help lower risks and speed recovery. - ➤ Marian University women's volleyball lost to Benedictine in five sets with scores of 25-18, 15-25, 25-23, 22-25 and 15-11—Marian dropped to 0-5 in five-set matches while Benedictine improved to a 19-4 record against the Sabres. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University field hockey won 1-0 over Virginia Wesleyan in double overtime to secure its fourth overtime win this season; freshman Charlotte Touw scored 2:21 into the second extra period + the Sabres outshot their opponent in overtime. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University women’s soccer beat Benedictine 4-1 after scoring three first-half goals and one in the second half. Ysabella Sanchez, Brianna Guelig, Ana Gonzalez and Emily Gordillo led the scoring—while Benedictine’s Kailyn Knudson scored on a penalty—the win improved Marian’s all-time series record to 13-8-2 and kept them unbeaten at Benedictine since 2016.
