- ➤ Festival Foods finalized its sale of 42 Wisconsin stores to Schnucks Markets; the new owner—based in St. Louis and operating more than 100 stores in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana—said shoppers will see no changes in service. - ➤ On Monday, October 20, 2025, gas prices in Fond du Lac jumped by up to .35 cents after a refinery in Whiting experienced a fire and power disruption—forcing key processing units offline. Officials said the 440,000 barrel plant is expected to resume operation in a week, so prices should return to the national average within 2 weeks. KFIZ

- ➤ A federally funded Wisconsin food assistance program, FoodShare, may run out of funds in 10 days if the government shutdown continues. Gov. Tony Evers said nearly 700,000 residents will see their November benefits delayed — state officials plan to restore funding once the shutdown ends. WBAY
- ➤ At an unscheduled town hall meeting on October 19, 2025, the Taycheedah town board voted to keep Mount Calvary Ambulance Service after residents raised concerns about longer response times if switching to the City of Fond du Lac ambulance service—officials met with the ambulance personnel on Monday and reached a new deal to secure service for nearly 10,000 people.
