- ➤ Fond du Lac Reporter invites residents to nominate local individuals for the 2025 People of the Year to honor those who made a difference this year. Residents can email Daphne Lemke or call 920-970-9995 to submit their nominations until Dec. 1 (all nominations will be reviewed for the final list). FDL Reporter
- ➤ Reservations are now open for Holy Family Catholic Community’s takeout Thanksgiving meal — a free meal with sliced turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, a bun, green beans, applesauce, and homemade dessert. Sarah Razner said 400 meals will be prepared and will be distributed on November 26 with reservations available by calling the parish office. KFIZ

- ➤ The Fond du Lac Area Foundation is celebrating ten years of its Fondy 100 Gives program and has added a new twist by dedicating one meeting to support the arts—'State of the Arts' will be held on January 20 at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts while the foundation seeks additional members. This initiative is designed to boost local art projects and provide immediate community benefits. KFIZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Families and child care providers in the Fox Valley have struggled with rising costs and staffing shortages, while waitlists for centers have grown quickly. Lawmakers met last Monday and Governor Tony Evers announced a $110 million bridge payment program to keep centers open through June 2026—efforts aimed at easing the burden on working parents. WBAY

- ➤ Fond du Lac Noon Rotary donated quality trees to Rolling Meadows Golf Course to replace ash trees lost to the emerald ash borer and aging sugar maples. Rotarians helped pick the trees—Overcup Oaks, Northern Red Oaks, Willow Oak, Brandy Wind Scarlet Maple, and American Beech—for a barrier between holes #23 and #24. KFIZ

- ➤ Utility companies began a winter moratorium on disconnecting services on Nov. 1 to protect customers from facing a huge bill when payments become due on April 15. Customers with payment difficulties are urged to contact their utility for budget billing+energy assistance options. WBAY
- ➤ The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office posts a daily Rut Report that rates deer movement on a one-to-five star scale so hunters can plan and drivers can stay safe this peak season—last year there were 400 car-deer crashes with injuries, and reports will continue through mid-November. WBAY
- ➤ Governor Evers signed two new laws last week to support first responders across the state—Act 35 covers EMS training costs and Act 36 raises Medicaid payments for calls without hospital transport, easing expenses for local agencies. WBAY
