Dr. Demytra Mihailidis from ThedaCare explained that mammograms remain the reliable screening tool for early breast cancer detection while thermography does not replace them, and she advised patients to rely on breast self-awareness instead of outdated self-exam routines.
She noted that 3D screenings can reduce callbacks and urged everyone to discuss any changes with their health care provider — stressing that clear, accurate information is key.
ThedaCare is offering virtual care options that let Fond du Lac residents speak with a health care provider from home.
Patients can choose an eVisit for simple symptoms or a video visit for more detailed concerns and should seek in-person care if their symptoms are severe.
