- ➤ The Fond du Lac Public Library offers free and low-cost holiday gift options with hands-on classes in its Idea Studio on Dec. 4 and Dec. 8 and free online art lessons with Creativebug. Chapter 52 Bookstore will host special sales on Dec. 6 and Dec. 20 and feature local author signings on Dec. 13 and Dec. 20 + visitors can also pick up free gift wrap until Dec. 23. - ➤ Marian University is accepting nominations for the keynote speaker at its 2026 MLK Community Prayer Breakfast—nominations are due by Jan. 1— with the event set for Jan. 19. FDL Reporter

- ➤ Fond du Lac area schools will close for Thanksgiving break Nov. 26—28 and for winter break Dec. 24—Jan. 2; several districts also have extra days off for professional development and holidays. Parents and students should check local calendars for the specific schedules. FDL Reporter
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic physiatrist Christopher Ng now offers the Tenex Health TX® system — a treatment that uses ultrasound to remove painful tendon tissue and shorten recovery time. The procedure is available at St. Agnes Hospital for patients who have had tendon pain for three months or more after trying rest, ice, and physical therapy. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Marian University’s NCAA men’s hockey team defeated Dubuque 5-3 after scoring four goals in the final period to turn a slow start into a strong finish—junior Caden Carlson and sophomore Brendan Bottem helped lead the comeback. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University women’s bowling team opened CCIW tournament action with a 5-1 record at their fall tournament, posting a 3,445-pin total in traditional play and sweeping wins over Augustana, Carthage and Elmhurst. The team recorded 950 pins in one match for the highest total of the day + closed the opening tournament with a win over Aurora. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University women’s basketball started slowly at Lawrence and trailed by a wide margin in the first quarter — they fought hard in the last three periods to narrow the gap before finishing 71-46. The Sabres improved their defense and rebounding despite mishandled turnovers during the game. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University women’s hockey beat Dubuque 4-2 to complete a series sweep. Junior Catherine Yasenak scored early and sophomore Zowie Hunter added two goals while Dubuque briefly cut the gap in the second period but could not overcome the lead. Envision Greater FDL
