- ➤ The Fond du Lac Public Library is helping residents create custom Christmas gifts with free training on equipment like 3-D printers and laser cutters at its Idea Studio, and the nearby Chapter 52 Bookstore is hosting special December sales and author meet-and-greets. - ➤ Giving Tuesday will begin on Dec 2 and local organizations are inviting Fond du Lac residents to support community needs through donations, volunteering, or contributing goods to help with food, housing, and child welfare. Groups such as Fond du Lac Area Foundation, United Way, and Ride United offer ways to help (for example, by texting RIDEUNITED to 26989) and list volunteer opportunities on their websites. - ➤ Four Northeast Wisconsin skilled trades professionals have been named Champions of Construction Award winners by the NEW Construction Alliance—Machaela Mader, Kristen Vera, Tom Gerlikovski, and Rod Dax will be honored at the annual meeting on January 14. - ➤ Marcus Theatres marks 90 years since founder Ben Marcus opened the Campus Theatre in Ripon on November 1, 1935 & has grown into a major chain with nearly 80 locations that continue to bring movie magic to local audiences. FOX6
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Local farmers are waiting for details on a federal aid package that may help offset losses from the tariff war. Discussions of a package estimated between $10 billion and $15 billion occurred before the government shutdown and the Secretary of Agriculture said an announcement could come soon. WBAY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Marian University is inviting nominations for a keynote speaker at its 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Community Prayer Breakfast—nominations are due by January 1, 2026, and the event is scheduled for Monday January 19, 2026. KFIZ
- ➤ Marian University Nursing Program earned a 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam for 2024 to 2025, ranking first among 46 programs in Wisconsin (and first among 1,177 BSN programs and 2,305 nursing programs overall). - ➤ Fond du Lac Transit announced on November 25 that its old bus tracking app is no longer working and riders will need to switch to the new TransLoc app—downloadable from their phone’s app store for real-time bus locations. KFIZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Christopher Ng at SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic now offers the Tenex procedure at St. Agnes Hospital to help patients with tendon pain that does not go away get better faster. The treatment uses ultrasound to remove only the damaged tissue and is done in a simple outpatient setting (no stitches are needed) for those who have not improved with rest or physical therapy. KFIZ

- ➤ Sophomore JT Sus from Marian University was named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators for his work on the field and in class—he played in all 17 games and scored three goals, making him the fifth player in team history to earn this honor. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Three Marian University women’s soccer players earned CSC Academic All-District honors — meeting standards of 90% game play and a minimum GPA of 3.5 — and showed strong performance in both sports and academics this season.
