  • The Wisconsin State Patrol cautioned Fond du Lac drivers to winterize vehicles + pack emergency kits after last week’s snowstorm created icy roads. Residents are advised to clear windows, check tire tread, and maintain fuel levels to stay safe on winter roads.  KFIZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • ThedaCare is expanding its graduate medical education program with 56 new townhouses for medical residents; construction began in October 2025 on property next to Medical Center-Neenah on Doty Island and the first phase will finish in summer 2026.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Starting Dec.15, graduating high school seniors in Compeer Financial’s 144-county territory may apply for $2,000 scholarships if they hold a 3.0+ GPA and meet agriculture-related criteria; applications will be available online until Feb.15 and winners notified six weeks after closing.  KFIZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Great Lakes Cheese Co. recalled over 1.5 million bags of shredded cheese sold in 31 states, including Wisconsin, on Dec. 4 because of potential metal fragment contamination; the Class II recall covers several mozzarella varieties sold under private labels at major retailers & consumers are urged to check batch numbers.  KFIZ
  • Resource Pool nurse Adam Nelson received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at St. Agnes Hospital yesterday. He was honored during a brief ceremony following heartfelt nominations from patients’ families — a clear sign of his committed care.  KFIZ

  • Marian University women’s basketball lost to Concordia Wisconsin 90-65 after holding a 43-40 lead at halftime; turnovers and a 16-0 run in the third allowed the Falcons to pull away. The Sabres scored 65 points (their highest since the season opener).  Envision Greater FDL
  • Marian University men's basketball led by three with four minutes remaining but fell 66+61 to Concordia Wisconsin when the Falcons mounted a late surge in the 81st meeting of the series.  Envision Greater FDL
