If you drive anywhere in Wisconsin, this week's reminder is for you. The state is marking Crash Responder Safety Week through Nov. 6, with the theme "Slow Down, Move Over. Lives Are on the Line."

Officials say distracted driving and drivers who don't move over can put responders in danger and lead to more crashes.

  • Workers covered: police, firefighters, EMS and tow truck operators
  • Also protected: certain disabled vehicles with hazard lights
  • Also covered: people attending to those vehicles

Drivers must move over or slow down near emergency scenes
